Pets Are Family
We love our pets – and for good reason! People who have a good relationship with their pets enjoy lower stress levels, lower heart rate and blood pressure, have an additional source of social support and companionship. And if you are a dog owner, you get more walks. The interaction between humans and their pets is one of mutual benefit and we all enjoy the unconditional love that comes from our animal companions. But pets need a lot of our attention and can at times require as much care as a child. And to our occasional dismay, pets (and children too!) can cause a lot of wear and tear on your home in various ways. As our pets get older, they leak, miss the litter box and have elder-care issues of their own that we deal with. Thank goodness for Nokout and Sniper! Although these product can’t stop unwanted behaviors, they can help to clean up the mess and prevent unwanted pet odors from taking over your home. If pet odor in your home is becoming an issue, here’s how to get rid of pet odors and leave your home with no unwanted odors at all.
First
Vacuum often. Pet hair is a major source of pet odor and can be an allergy irritant as well due to pet dander. While you are vacuuming, turn on your air filter, or run the fan on your HVAC unit. The exhaust from your vacuum cleaner tends to stir up a lot of dust. That household dust contains a lot of stuff (such as insect poop!) that you really don’t want to know about, much less have floating around in your air. Running the air filter while you vacuum is the perfect time to take advantage of the “stirring up” effect to trap all that dust instead of just letting it settle back onto the floor, furniture and so on.
If you have a bagless vacuum, spray the filter with Nok-Out regularly to hold down the odor from your vacuum cleaner.
Pet Furniture
Any bedding for your pet is likely to have removable covers for the cushions and so on that can be tossed into the wash. Do this weekly. Use your favorite odor-free detergent and when the cycle is complete, run a “quick cycle” using cold water and a half cup of Nokout or Sniper instead of your normal detergent to remove any lingering smell left behind. Dry as usual.
Any other furniture that your pets like to hang out on can be safely sprayed with either Nokout or Sniper. Spray and walk away! No need to worry because our products will not cause harm to pets or your furniture because in addition to being non-toxic (to pets and people) our products are non-corrosive and therefore are extremely unlikely to cause any harm. As a powerful disinfectant, Sniper can give you peace of mind after any sickness in your pets.
Aviary
Nokout or Sniper can be sprayed in your aviary safely. Clean the waste trays holding litter or paper and spray with Nokout or Sniper. Do this weekly. See https://nokout.com/clean-your-aviary-with-nok-out-or-sniper/ for more information.
Treat The Air
You can treat the air to remove odors easily. The simplest method is to just spray some Nokout or Sniper into the air. This is not the most efficient method, but it is the easiest and most convenient. The best way is to put some Nokout or Sniper into a cool mist humidifier/vaporizer. It doesn’t take much – 4 to 8 ounces to a gallon. If you make too strong a “mix”, then it may smell a bit like a swimming pool. Some of the small units are a perfect way to get rid of pet odor by treating the air itself.
Can I spray My Pet Directly?
Yes you can! We love our pets, but we may not always love their smell! Golly! The things dogs roll around in! Bathing your pet regularly WILL help to get rid of pet odor because the dog itself is often a strong odor source! Twice a month is usually frequent enough bathing schedule, but if you need to get rid of that “doggy” smell in between times, you can spray the dog directly or spray a rag and use the rag to wipe down the animal.
The Litter Box
This is often a source of unwanted Pet Odor and if you are the owner of several cats, you may become “nose-blind” to this odor. Any guest coming to your home, however, may wrinkle their nose upon the first breath they take inside your home. Keeping this thing clean and odor free is a necessary task when eliminating pet odors. After scooping daily, spray the litter directly with Nokout or Sniper. Spray around the box a bit to take care of any near-misses, as well. Once a week, change the litter completely. Spray the box and the cover with Nokout and allow them to air dry naturally. An odor-free litter box will go a long way towards helping you get rid of pet odors in your home.

Pet Health Concerns?
You need not worry whether Nokout or Sniper might cause health issues for your pets – unless your pets are microbes! Sniper is lethal to microorganisms, but doesn’t cause harm to pets or people. The EPA evaluates all disinfecting products for toxicity in four areas – to skin, to eyes, to lungs (because lungs are a surface area that is exposed to your environment) and if ingested (eaten or drank). Sniper receives the lowest toxicity rating that the EPA gives out, in all 4 categories. Nokout is considered non-toxic.
